RESTORATIVE YOGA
Restorative Yoga brings equanimity to the mind and body by creating a supported posture, optimizing the potential for deep relaxation, and calming the heart-mind. This immersion includes technique, background, teaching methodology, anatomy of the subtle body, philosophy, and hands-on practice. Prior yoga teacher training not required, open to teachers and practitioners of all levels.
What you will learn:
The psychosomatic (mind-body) effects of rest and relaxation
The fundamental postures and support techniques to achieve a restorative state
The body mechanics and cues for instructing one-on-one and group practice
The importance of philosophical themes and their modern value
The basic principles of sequencing for energetic value (sleep, awareness, digestion, destress)
What you will be able to do:
Experience and guide others in deep restorative postures
How to effectively use props to support restorative and adaptive yoga postures
Teach inclusive classes that support every body
Incorporate the yogic teachings of “ease” into a yoga practice
Create and guide a restorative yoga sequence with an energetic intention.
