200-HOUR EMPOWER YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 200-Hour Foundations Program is a dynamic and comprehensive training experience designed to empower individuals with essential tools to authentically teach yoga, inspire others, and be of service. Ignite your purpose through asana, meditation, and inquiry. The goal of this program is to empower teachers with tools, practice, and understanding of power vinyasa yoga to teach dynamic, authentic, and inspiring vinyasa flow classes.

In this course, you will explore:

  • Functional Anatomy

  • Meditation

  • Hands-On Assisting

  • Sequencing | Power Vinyasa

  • Baptiste Methodology

  • History and Philosophy

  • Effective Teaching Methods

Students get to experience and apply what they learn and know in a safe and sacred learning environment with the guidance and feedback of teachers with years of experience.

REQUIRED TRAINING DATES

Phase 1: June 22-30, 2019
Phase 2: August 10-18, 2019

REQUIREMENTS

In order to the graduate, students must commit to a path of service and complete the following requirements:

  • Pre-requisite: Some prior experience with hatha yoga.  Interview with Lead Trainer required before acceptance.

  • Core Modules with Lead Trainer (Minimum of 120 Hours)

  • Daily Personal Practice 

  • Observe Classes & Assist

  • Keep a Practice Journal 

  • Assignments: Approximately 20 minutes of homework per instruction hour

  • Assessments (Quizzes, Tests, and Practice Teaching with Live Feedback)

  • Teach a live donation-based class to the public as part of Final Exam


Commitment: We ask student to be 100% committed to growth… as an individual, as a group, and as a community.  Attendance, participation, collaboration, contribution, and readiness are essential to the process of learning, growth, and therefore transformation!


Homework will include observation, reading, writing, research, independant practice, group collaboration, and various projects and presentations. 

HOW MUCH IS SCHOOL TUITION?

Application Fee (Non-Refundable): $75
Deposit (Non-Refundable): $200 Reserves Enrollment in Course 

Super Early Bird: $2200 Paid by September 1, 2018 

Early Bird Tuition: $2500 Paid in Full by December 1, 2018 
Regular Tuition: $2800 by January 1, 2019

Accomodations

Room: $500 per person based on single occupancy.  25% discount on double occupancy.

Camp: $200 per person. Must provide your own gear. Access to kitchen, bathroom and shower.

ATTENDANCE AND CANCELLATION POLICY

As with any educational curriculum, attendance is essential for success in the Transcending Yoga Lifestyle and Teacher Training Program.  According Yoga Alliance Standards for 200 hour certification, students are required to participate in no less than 180 contact hours with the Transcending Yoga Faculty (a minimum of 65 contact hours with the designated Lead Trainer for the Program). For 300-hour certification, students are required to participate in no less than 270 contact hours with approved faculty (a minimum of 135 contact hours with the designated Lead Trainer for the Program). Transcending Yoga has elected that students must maintain an attendance rate of at least 75% in order to graduate.  Students who are absent from training sessions are responsible for independently making up content and contact hours at their own expense with an approved RYT. Documentation and additional assignments apply.


200 Hour Program | Minimum of 150 Hours (50 Hours Missed)

300 Hour Program | Minimum of 225 Hours (75 Hours Missed)

Application fees, deposit, and early bird tuition are non-refundable.  Regular tuition cancellation will be refunded at 50% up to 30 days before program start date.  Tuition is non-refundable less than 30 days before program start date or after.  Early Bird and Super Early Bird Tuition is Non-Refundable. In rare circumstance that a family emergency (injury, loss, or deployment) should occur during the program, credit will be issued for applicant to transfer to another program within 18 months of original program start date.  In the event of a permanent change of station (PCS), director will work to create a plan to help student  successfully complete certification.

CODE OF ETHICS

The nature of yoga (union of body, mind and spirit), on or off the mat, is to open the body and psyche through which profound transformation can occur.  As teachers of yoga, we are stewards of the trust our students place in us.  It is our responsibility to uphold and foster a safe and sacred environment in which to allow this work to happen.  It is essential that anyone teaching yoga have a high degree of personal integrity and maintain clear boundaries in the role of serving the students.


Holding ourselves as teachers places us in a position of power over our students, however subtle or obvious.  We become their mentors, facilitators and helpers.  Some students may idealize us or project that we are wiser or more evolved than they are.


As professionals, we must remain aware of this power dynamic and never exploit the vulnerability of a student for personal gain or gratification. Students need to have a place to come where they can safely open their hearts, observe their own deeper dynamics and be free from sexual distractions and conditioned behaviors. Because of this, we ask that yoga teachers adhere to the code of conduct:

  1. Uphold the integrity of my vocation by conducting myself in a professional and conscientious manner. 

  2. Acknowledge the limitations of my skills and scope of practice and where appropriate, refer students to seek alternative instruction, advice, treatment, or direction. 

  3. Create and maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the practice of yoga. 

  4. Encourage diversity actively by respecting all students regardless of age, physical limitations, race, creed, gender, ethnicity, religion affiliation, or sexual orientation. 

  5. Respect the rights, dignity, and privacy of all students. 

  6. Avoid words and actions that constitute sexual harassment. 

  7. Adhere to the traditional yoga principles as written in the Yamas and Niyamas. 

  8. Follow all local government and national laws that pertain to my yoga teaching and business. 

  9. Speak honestly and listen generously, always with compassion.

  10. Commit to being of service to others, my peers, classmates, family, students, and community.

I understand that I must abide by the above criteria to in order receive certification.  I understand that, if I step out of the integrity of this agreement, I may be dropped from the program and tuition will not be refunded. I agree to honor this code of ethics.
